CLEANING FRAMES AND FINISHES
Sundrella products have been designed and manufactured to provide maximum durability and comfort. As with any quality product, proper care is required to keep your furniture looking good.
CLEANING STRAPS
Below are our recommendations to care for your new Sundrella furniture:
1) Frequent cleaning with a solution of mild detergent and 1/2 cup of white vinegar to 2 gallons of warm water. Rinse with clean water.
2) For more stubborn stains, you may use a mild abrasive such as Soft Scrub (regular, without bleach).
3) Periodic paste waxing of frames and straps will also prevent dirt build-up.
4) Inspect the nylon glides frequently and replace if worn or missing.
Some sun block products contain "PABA", an acid that is harmful to vinyl. To prevent contact between sun block and strapping, use a beach towel and rinse furniture frequently with water.
Below are some items that could harm the strap or finish:
1) DO NOT use strong detergents or bleach!
2) DO NOT use solvents such as methyl, ethyl, ketone, acetone or paint thinner.
CLEANING SUNDRELLA FABRICS
Fabric life is primarily a function of care and use. We recommend regular cleaning and rinsing, as well as storage of cushions when not in use.
METAL & MARKET UMBRELLAS
To protect them from the elements, umbrellas should be closed in their stand. If open umbrella becomes wet, let dry completely before closing.
When storing umbrellas, cover them completely and lay on hard, flat surface in a well-ventilated location. NEVER store wet.
The wooden poles and frames of the Market Umbrellas require minimal maintenance. If they are ever scratched, touch-up can be accomplished with marine spar varnish.
Umbrella model #701 swivel mechanisms require occasional lubrication using WD-40 or equivalent.
SCRATCHES AND SCRAPES
If your finish does get scratched, touch-up paint similar to that used on models may be used. Before applying touch-up paint, surface must be washed and then sanded with 200-300 sandpaper until smooth. Paint should be applied to surface in short light sprays until area is covered. Be sure to protect other areas of furniture from possible overspray. (Paint should be sprayed at 70° or higher.)
FURNITURE SITS UNEVENLY
If the problem cannot be solved by adjusting the glides, you may find that your chair or table has somehow been slightly wrenched so that the legs sit unevenly on the ground. This can be corrected by first determining which is the "long" leg. Place a small block of wood on the floor, raise the chair directly above it, and firmly bring chair down to the floor letting the "long" leg strike the wooden block.
